Q: Do you have a high turnover of teachers?
A: Seventy five percent of our teachers have been with New Horizons for at least three years, some have been here for 10 years!
Q: How often do you do fire drills?
A: We do fire drills monthly and we have continually been able to move all of our children to safety in just over 1 minute and 40 seconds. We also do severe storm drills and tornado drills, at which time, children are moved away from windows.
Q: What is your policy for sick children?
A: Children with a fever of 101 degrees or higher, must be picked up. They must be free from fever for 24 hours before returning to the daycare.
Q: Do you do field trips?
A: No, we do not do outside field trips. We have several enrichment programs that come in house, such as: preschool music, puppet and magic shows, Mad Science programming, petting zoo, and storytelling from the public library.
Q: What is included with tuition?
A: Each day the child receives a nutritional breakfast, lunch and snack. The children are taught conversation Spanish from the toddler classroom to the pre-K fives classroom. Technology is integrated into the classrooms, with computers available for children's access in Threes, Fours, and Fives' Classroom. A Folklore music program is done once a week in all of the classrooms. As well we have in house visitors that are community helpers such as, Police officers, Firefighters, and Lenny the lifeguard. 75% of our teachers have Early Childhood Associates Degrees or higher.
